Clinic Concept
St Alban Legal Aid Clinic provides its services by volunteer attorneys who assist clients to better understand and manage or solve their legal questions. Client cases are not taken on as formal clients of the volunteer attorney or their firm, but the Clinic assists persons to access and properly use self-help/pro se forms, resolve legal issues with calls and in-clinic intervention, and educate about legal process - sometimes on a multiple visit basis.
As a Christian outreach, volunteer attorneys can also assist with spiritual questions, including referring to a suitable church or ministry in the area.
Qualifications
St Alban Legal Aid generally targets serving those in financial need, which is roughly defined as 200% of the US poverty line. This equates to roughly $70,000/yr for a family of four.
